The NENA Bypass Soft Starter Cabinet is an industrial motor control solution designed to deliver smooth motor starting with efficient steady-state operation and reliable protection in a compact, floor-standing enclosure.
This unit adopts a classic bypass soft starter design. During motor startup, the soft starter gradually increases voltage to control inrush current and torque, ensuring a controlled and gentle acceleration. Once the motor reaches its rated speed—typically within a few seconds—a built-in bypass contactor engages and takes over the running current. This removes the SCRs from the power path, significantly reducing heat generation and power losses during normal operation while maintaining the benefits of a soft start.
For system protection, the cabinet integrates a centrally mounted HUTAI molded case circuit breaker (MCCB). This provides adjustable thermal-magnetic protection against overloads and short-circuit conditions, while the clear ON/OFF status handle allows quick visual confirmation of operating state. Robust internal busbar construction and well-organized cable terminals improve wiring efficiency and make installation and maintenance more convenient, even with larger power cables.
The cabinet is built in a durable powder-coated steel enclosure suitable for demanding industrial environments. Its design includes ventilation features for effective heat dissipation, along with a structured internal layout that separates control wiring for easier commissioning and troubleshooting. Wide-access doors provide convenient entry to key components such as the MCCB, terminals, and optional control modules.
Available in multiple power ratings and enclosure sizes, the NENA Bypass Soft Starter Cabinet is designed to fit common MCC room layouts and retrofit projects without extensive modification. Typical configurations include 18.5–75 kW and 90–115 kW ranges, with compact installation footprints that support straightforward integration into existing systems.
